Michelle Boykin, COO of Rackley Roofing radiates passion in everything she does including her career, her charitable contributions and her love for her family including her two sons ages 12 and 5. If you Google “women supporting women” in the roofing industry, National Women in Roofing, CREW, RT3, NRCA, Roofer’s Coffee Shop, as well as many other roofing organizations & causes, you would be hard pressed to not come across her name. Since 2010, Michelle has been an invaluable part of Rackley Roofing and the roofing industry.
Michelle works in tandem with Curtis Sutton, President and CEO of Rackley Roofing who together with their team, grew Rackley from 1 service truck crew to 25 in the past decade. Not surprising that this accomplishment recently landed them at #49 on the Top 100 Roofing Companies Nationwide. When asked what makes Rackley so successful in a world of many varying roofing organizations, the answer always comes back to their core values: Humble, Hungry, Smart, Innovative, Accountable, and Customer Focused.
Rackley and the 220 employees who are all considered family live, breathe and eat these core values, which embodies a culture of empowerment, especially in women. Investing in people and giving back to charitable organizations has allowed Rackley to branch outside of the work place. They are a sponsor of the Tennessee Titans (along with their own NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck), recently provided 100 backpacks for Smith County, TN students for the upcoming school year, adopted most of the Ronald McDonald facilities throughout the entire state of TN, and encouraged all of the Rackley Roofing family to get involved in giving somehow. It is widely known at Rackley HQ that if you join an outside volunteer organization, give it your all like you would in your career and every day.
Michelle, Curtis and the Rackley teams came together quickly when COVID-19 became a household name and pandemic early this year. Putting employee safety first, they quickly asked office employees to work remotely and addressed safety precautions for the field service crews. Within four hours, the entire office was packed and everyone deployed home to adapt to their new working normal. Curtis, Michelle and the entire management team have been pleased with how nimble and innovative their organization has been under these ever-changing scary times. They attribute part of their success to Dataforma, an all-in-one service and management software allowing you to manage your business anywhere.
Dataforma has been a part of Rackley’s day to day operations for 10 years providing remote sharable scheduling, running a paperless service department, tracking leads, robust CRM, and invoicing from anywhere as some of the key features. One of Michelle’s favorite features is how quickly you can invoice same day using the app, that it is the best software for holding and hosting Rackley’s data and how Dataforma continues to advance features based on listening to their clients. The relationship and software has been a win-win and proven itself even more effective recently in the midst of a pandemic.
So where does Rackley go from here? They have lofty goals on the horizon including opening three new satellite offices in the next few years, grow the number of field trucks in TN and continue to be service minded to local and national charities. This formula of success seems to be working. The sky is the limit for Rackley Roofing and we are excited to watch it unfold.
